Whats New Dustin Ebaugh MVO The Voiceover Guys

1. You mentioned a really cool voiceover project in your recent MVO: The Voiceover Guys update. Can you talk about who the project was for and where it was heard or seen?

dr pepper zero sugar MVO The Voiceover Guys Dustin EbaughYes, it’s a national television commercial for Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar. It’s also on YouTube. I haven’t seen it on TV yet, but other folks who live in Vegas have seen it. Even my sister-in-law in Arkansas saw it. She sent a screen cap of the TV. That was fun.

2. What made the media production’s content interesting from your perspective?

Well, I love the concept…that Dr. Pepper sent 3 scientists into a vault to perfect the Dr. Pepper flavor without sugar…then they come out years later to a changed world. I love that the one scientist’s son has something misspelled on his shirt. Likely because of his smart dad’s absence. That was a nice touch from the creative team.

3. As the voice talent in the media project, were there any technical or performance challenges during this voiceover recording session?

Not challenges, so much as opportunities. They had several ideas to explore for the voiceover, so I did quite a few takes in about 7 different delivery styles. There were also several iterations of the script that they wanted to cover, so I didn’t know which one(s) they were going to use until the spot came out and I saw it on YouTube. It turned out nicely.

4. Is there anything else you would like us to know about this voiceover project?

I have been a Dr. Pepper fan since I was a child. Pretty much the only soda I drink is Diet Dr. Pepper, so I’m really interested to try Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar when it’s available here. I can’t wait! It’s super fun to have the opportunity to lend my voice to a brand of which I’m such a huge fan.
