Radio imaging group Benztown is sponsoring its fifth annual “Cans4Cans” Holiday Benefit and Giveaway to help drive donations to the LA Food Bank.

From now until Thursday, December 20th, 2018, voiceover talents, radio personalities (and many voice talents have been radio personalities at one time or another) as well as pretty much anybody involved with audio media can post a photo of themselves wearing their headphones (aka “cans”) to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with the hashtag #Cans4Cans. In exchange for that picture post and hashtag, Benztown is going to donate a can of food to the Los Angeles Food Bank!

So below are the #Cans4Cans photos from the members of MVO: The Voice-Over Guys with our hope that this small effort can make some kind of impact on a much larger problem.

#Cans4Cans is presented by Benztown Branding as a way to collect cans of food for the Los Angeles Food Bank. For every picture posted on social media of someone with their headphones on (known in the audio industry as “cans”) Benztown will donate a can of food.

Last year over 900 pictures were posted and over 900 cans were donated.

November is also known as Movember.

Movember is the global charity foundation that raises funds and awareness for men’s health. Funds raised go towards supporting innovative world-class men’s health programs supporting our four key areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. To date, the Movember Foundation has helped fund 1,000 men’s health programs.

Every Movember, male participants are challenged to grow a mustache or make a commitment to get active and MOVE for 30 days. Women are asked to support the guy’s “growing” efforts.

MVO: The Voice-Over Guys supports Movember In 2015 we have three guys who have committed to grow for the cause….

They’ll grow their facial hair (it’s supposed to be just mustaches but in the 5 years O’Connell has done Movember, he always grows a goatee) and the trio will update us throughout the month.

So the Ladies are running a new fund-raising program called “Pretty In Pink”, which is a virtual race supporting Women’s Cancer Research that runs through October 30, 2015. Your donation is your participation, which you can learn more about here.

*So we’re not “brother-sister” in the family sense. And we’re not owned by the same people so they are not a “sister” organization in a corporate sense. It’s that we’re two groups of friendly, supportive voice talents, one male group (us), one female group (them), who are doing similar things with MVO: The Voice-Over Guys doing it on a much smaller scale.

Plus we guys don’t look good in dresses. Allegedly.
