What’s New With STEVE HENDERSON Spring 2021 is part of a series in which MVO: The Voice-Over Guys checks-in with one of our male voiceover talents to learn more about a recent media project he has voiced. Here’s what Steve shared with us.

MVO The VoiceOver Guys What's New Memo Henderson

1. You mentioned a really cool voiceover project in your recent MVO: The Voiceover Guys update. Can you talk about who the project was for and where it was heard or seen?

The project was voice over  for Lay’s Cheddar Jalapeno Chips.  It literally played everywhere as so many people e-mailed or called to say they saw it.  Networks I heard referenced were A & E, TNT, CBS, FOX and many more.  It was so fun to record a national commercial from my home studio.

2. What made the media production’s content interesting from your perspective?

Steve Henderson MVO Voiceover March 2021I thought it was interesting because I don’t see a lot of the big movie trailer voice acting style reads that aren’t parodying something or mocking what used to be.  This was very much an in your face, gluttoness, deep dive into how good something looks and more importantly tastes.  Was so much fun to go full in on the “In A World” voice.

3. As the voice talent in the media project, were there any technical or performance challenges during this voiceover recording session?

As with everything in the pandemic environment, you have to have your home studio up to snuff and ready for anything.  Thankfully the wonderful Source Connect Standard came to the rescue.  It amazes me to see how far the recording world has come in such short time.

4. Is there anything else you would like us to know about this voiceover project?

Projects like this I wouldn’t have access to without the help of my managers at ACM Talent.  Specifically Robyn Starr was a dream to work with in getting this spot for me.  Who knows…could there be more to come?  Stay tuned.
